Pencon Foundation Scholarship

Pencon is an energy purchasing co-op serving Pennsylvania school districts and not-for-profit institutions. Pencon Foundation scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis to high school seniors who are enrolled in a member school district. Applications require documentation of a recent scientific or environmentally-themed research project. For more information, click on "Foundation" on the lower right screen on the Pencon homepage. There is a fall deadline for filing a letter of intent.
National Youth Science Camp

The National Youth Science Camp in West Virginia is an intense residential science education program for young scientists the summer after they graduate from high school. Each year, Pennsylvania competitively selects two representatives for the all-expense paid (including travel), month-long experience that includes an active outdoor recreational program. Robertson Scholars Program

The Robertson Scholars program is a merit scholarship opportunity for admissions candidates to Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Awards cover full tuition and room and board at both schools, as well as funding for other summer opportunities, renewable for four years. The program has traditionally supported 18 students at each campus. There is a December 1 deadline for filing online.
Davidson Fellows Scholarships

The national Davidson Fellows Scholarship program offers scholarships ranging from $10,000 - $50,000 to youth who have created a significant piece of work in mathematics, science, literature, music, technology, philosophy or "outside the box." The 2009 application deadline is March 4 and applicants must be under the age of 18 by October 1, 2009.
