The Pennsylvania Center for Excellence in Education, formerly The Pennsylvania Center for the Arts, is an advisory board and non-profit corporation formed to receive and maintain a fund or funds of real or personal property, or both, to be used exclusively for charitable, scientific, literary or education purposes either directly or by contributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code and its Regulations as they now exist or as they may hereafter be amended.
The Center's chief objectives are to provide special educational opportunities for gifted and talented students in Pennsylvania through scholarship programs, support to programs that serve this population, and continuing education programs for school administrators, supervisors and teachers. The Center advises and serves as an advocate for the Pennsylvania Governor's Schools of Excellence.
